SpectraScience, Inc. (SCIE.OB) announced today that it has established a distribution partnership for the Italian market through Medimar Italia, a Milan-based firm specializing in medical device sales in the country.
Michel Vaudry, SpectraScience’s Director of International Sales commented that, “We are pleased to have added our second European distributor in the past two months. Medimar is a respected and well-established medical device distributor and its decision to add the WavSTAT Optical Biopsy System to their portfolio is a strong validation of our technology.”
Medimar’s President, Francesco Torelli, stated that, “SpectraScience’s WavSTAT has tremendous potential to impact the marketplace here in Italy. (SCIE.OB) announced today that it has established a distribution partnership in the Czech market through the Almeda Company, a Prague-based firm specializing in medical device sales in the region for almost two decades. Michel Vaudry, SpectraScience’s Director of International Sales commented that “the Czech Republic is attractive on many fronts as an entry point into the European market for our WavSTAT System, both for its aging population and its established $1.2 billion medical device market. In addition, the Czech Republic has one of the highest incidences of colorectal cancer in the world. We are exploring additions to our export sales team in other European countries such as Italy, Germany and France.”
     Almeda’s Director Ales Zavorka stated that “the WavSTAT System fills a significant gap in our product offering to the Czech market which has a particularly high incidence of colon cancer.
